A new evolution is emerging! The momentum of the “Internet” is opening up a wide, new world of the “Enernet,” where energy and technology are being merged to drive exponential value to customers and communities!!
To support this evolution and growing market in our own back yard, on Saturday, April 8, 2017, CPS Energy is hosting its first ever Customer Centric Competition, or C3. We’re looking for creative technology players, from novice-to-expert, in the Greater San Antonio area (our service territory) to show us their ideas and new concepts that will help us provide much more value.
We want our customers to have more convenience, control or choice. Additionally, we are interested in ideas on making us much more efficient and effective in connecting with and servicing our wide range of customers. Is it an innovation that would work with our developing smart grid, the market’s new smart technology in appliances, or maybe electric vehicles? Is it a software idea the market hasn’t seen yet? We’re open to all new, constructive and bold ideas.
“The seed for C3 developed out of conversations with some of our leading companies who also happen to be our customers. Our CEO thought, ‘Let’s develop that thought further.’ And, C3 was born,” said Jonathan Tijerina, director of Smart City Outreach and chief of staff to the president & CEO.
Thaddeus (TC) Crawford, our senior director of Business Integration, added, “Utilities touch the lives of every household and company in their communities. But historically, energy companies have been late to the game when it comes to innovative technology.”
USAA IT Technical Director, Josh Elkin, and Webhead CEO, Janie Gonzalez, will join CPS Energy’s President & CEO, Paula Gold-Williams, and other executives for the April 8 kickoff at the Jamie Rochelle Technical Training Center, 4514 Frank Bryant. The will run from 8:30 a.m. And will end before noon. The morning launch will include a panel chat about our industry, customer expectations, considerations around cyber security, and a detailed explanation of the competition. Concept Submissions will be due back to CPS Energy on Friday, April 14, 2017.
