In every great city in America, the utility company is a major fixture in the economic success and vitality of the community.
That characteristic definitely holds true here in San Antonio, with the undeniable link between CPS Energy and our commitment to our community. Over the course of my four years here, I have always been amazed at our employees and the number of ways they get involved and give back to the community. Whether it’s through thousands of volunteer hours annually, service on community boards, mentoring and internship programs, our Community Engagement team, or Weatherization and customer programs; the list literally goes on and on. Our people make me proud!
Recently, I was honored to be installed as the 2016 Chairman of the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. I am humbled, yet excited to represent my company in this role, but it would not be possible without the support of my CPS Energy team. Not only is community service encouraged, but as leaders it’s expected that we do all we can to connect with our customers in as many ways as possible.
There is so much positive momentum happening in San Antonio. Whether it’s the recent World Heritage Designation of our missions; the growth at Brooks City Base and Port San Antonio, both former military installations that are now thriving private entities; growth in our local colleges and universities; our arts and cultural assets; growth in our small businesses; and of course the Energy Partnerships Innovation Center or EPIcenter—CPS Energy’s commitment to bringing a world class innovation center to the Mission Reach. I am thrilled to play a small role in ensuring that CPS Energy continues to do our part in supporting the success of San Antonio and our surrounding communities.
